The popular text typeface Athelas, designed by TypeTogether’s Veronika Burian and Jose Scaglione, was first published in 2008. Soon after, my studio was commissioned to participate in the development of an extended version for Apple. This project involved designing a comprehensive Cyrillic character set supporting modern and archaic characters, symbols, and notations in Athelas’ four styles.

Athelas is available from TypeTogether and was introduced in Apple’s macOS 10.9 (Mavericks) and iBooks 1.5 for iOS.
