A commission by Monotype for its Linotype Platinum Collection, Trade Gothic Next is an adaptation of Jackson Burke’s famous workhorse type. The family was reworked and extended to 17 styles, spanning four weights and three widths, and every character in the family was completely redrawn to reflect a more consistent yet organic expression of Trade Gothic’s original features. The harsher aspects of the original bold and bold condensed were augmented as well, making the styles more compatible when mixed together.
